Wyoming Pork

We were able to get up to Wyoming today. We had heard reports that the fishing has been slow but had to check it out for ourselves. Tyson, Paul, and Brett went. As usual, Brett was late. The action was not steady catching fish. It was actually pretty slow. But the fish we caught were all very nice fish. The reason we continue to make the trek to this stream over and over again is the potential it has to put out fish like we caught today.

Paul was able to get in on the action early. These bows had some very nice colors. The point and shoot doesn't do them justice.
Nice work today Paul. You're starting to figure this fly fishing stuff out.
Even though Brett made us late we still allowed him to fish. Got this nice colored bow.
A nice 20 inch bow that this stream is famous for producing.
Another look at this healthy bow.
The fish of the day.
This is the best fish I've caught out of this stream. It fought hard from the get go and didn't give up until it was in the net. There was a couple runs that made my reel sing and even got my knuckles one time. Was quite the experience on my 3 weight.
All in all this was a great day. We didn't catch a lot of fish, but the fish we caught were definitely the type of fish we travel all the way out there to catch. This stream is about as good as it gets.

Jackson

Was able to break away for some fishing outside Jackson. This is small stream fishing at its best. Here are a few pictures from along the way. Had a pretty decent day fishing sunken hoppers.

It's always nice to get out to the stream

Blake in Alaska

Back from the land of the north on a cruise, I was able to break away one day for some amazing fishing. This first set of pictures was a fly out fly-fishing trip with Bear Creek Outfitter in Juno. We took off in a small de Havilland Beaver float plane and after a short 15 minute flight we were at the confluence of a small river with the ocean. The day was incredible fishing for pinks and even a few dolly varden. These were my first dollies ever, so I was pretty stoked. One picture this set won't include is the dolly that my guide told me was the biggest dolly he'd ever seen and was a true trophy. Unfortunately there were some bears close by and my wife was taking pictures of them at the time. I did get some good ones and hope you enjoy.

Scenery was unbelievable, a few general shots

A nice humped up pink
Releasing a nice pink

A smaller pink

Even the smaller fish gave me an incredible fight. I'll be icing my shoulder for a week.

A smaller dolly, but beautiful fish.
Releasing a very nice dolly

This is a little fuzzy, but a cool picture of a black bear taking his claim.

I love this last picture in this set. If you blow this picture up you can see the blood on the bear's mouth. What an incredible sites bears are. We saw some grizzlies as well, just didn't get any pictures this time.

More Alaska

These were a trip out of Ketchikan. My dad and brothers joined me on this trip for some trolling for pinks. We were out only a couple hours and caught 11 pinks that we were able to package up and send home. We caught a few small kings that we had to release.
